Who We Are

Connecting Those Seeking Wolf Management With Those Who Can Make It Happen

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote wildlife population recovery in areas negatively impacted by wolves, assist state game management agencies in meeting their wolf management objectives, promote youth in the outdoors, and to educate the general public on the negative impact the successful reintroduction of wolves has had on our ungulate populations.

Why We Exist

To Create Healthy Balance Where
All Wildlife Can Thrive In Abundance

To Create Healthy Balance Where All Wildlife Can Thrive In Abundance

Managing the ever growing wolf population has proven a daunting task! With wolf hunter success rates at less than 1%, sportsmen typically harvest less wolves than what are born each season.

It’s the combination of our members efforts and wolf disbursal that has kept their numbers stable the past several years.

  • Wolves Have An Average Lifespan of 7 Years

  • Wolves Consume an Average of 20 Big Game and Livestock Each Year

  • Wolves Reproduce by Up To 40% Each Year

  • Wolves Travel/Migrate Great Distances Each Year

  • Wolf Hunter Success Rates are Less Than 1%

Our Impact

F4WM Impact To-date By The Numbers

F4WM funds 75% of Idaho’s wolf harvest and 55% of Montana’s each season.

We have helped remove 2,700 wolves with just over $2 million in membership and sponsor funds, with zero tax dollars involved (less than $910 per wolf). This effort was supported by sportsmen, ranchers, citizens, and some grants.

Without F4WM, the Idaho Wolf Control Board would be tasked with removing the same wolves, costing tax payers a total of $19.8 million (roughly $9,000 per wolf).

Our Wolf Harvest Reimbursement Program has helped save tax payers roughly $12.9 million.

Over 383,000 elk, moose, deer, and livestock have been saved, given that each wolf consumes 20 big game animals annually for 7 years.
